Day 1: Hanoi motorcycle tours to Na Khan. ( 183 km, ~6 h )

Quite a long drive but easy from Hanoi to Na Khan for 180 km ( start early morning ). The road is sealed all the way until Bac Kan and the last part from Bac Kan to Na Khan is wild and little bumpy. Na Khan is a Tay village, lost in the middle of the primitive forest. A new road was built near this village recently but the experience is still very good. We stay in the home-stay tonight.
Day 2: Na Khan motorbike tours  to Ba Be.  ( 55 km, ~2 h ).
Short motorcycle ride from Na Khan to Ba Be lake on bumpy road. Lunch at our host family’s house. Take a amazing boat cruise on the lake and river, it is very relaxing moment. Go to market (if it is the day you arrive). Stop at waterfall, swimming, relaxing etc. Down the waterfall, we could visit the village and a small primary school (only few kids during the summer). We propose to stay in the stilt house of a Tay family.
Day 3: Ba Be motorbike tours to Cao Bang.  ( 173 km, ~8h )
Beautiful ride up to Cao Bang province. Few passes from where you can dominate the area. The road is easy but has many blind curves. We can stop very often for pictures. All together, stop for drinks and food it should be an 8-hour journey. Stay in a hotel in Cao Bang.
Day 4: Cao Bang motorcycle tours to Ban Gioc Waterfalls – Quang Uyen. (133 km, ~2h )

Having obtained permission from the border police we make our way through spectacular scenery to Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfalls. Weather permitting we can swim right up to where the 50 m high falls hit the river.
Then ride 1 more hour back to the beautiful village of Quang Hoa, in the middle of a mountain cirque. This is the territory of Nung  people. Spend the night in house of Nung people.
Day 5: Quang Hoa motorbike tours to Lang Son. ( 152 km, ~5h ).
Motorcycle ride from Quang Hoa to Lang Son province. We have time to discover this mountain city, which has become a big trading center between China and Vietnam. You could shop for low price Chinese electronic products or gifts to bring home at Dong Kinh and Tam Thanh markets.
Overnight in a hotel.
Day 6: Lang Son motorcycle ride back to Hanoi. (153 km, ~3h )
If the weather is nice, we can continue riding toward South to Mau Son. Mau Son is 30 km away from Lang Son, 1.541m above sea level, Promenade around Mau Son in the morning, visit our Dao friends. Then, ride down to Lang Son to have lunch. Alternatively, we ride on some small roads alongside with Highway 1B back to Hanoi. Day 1: Hanoi – Vu Linh (about 180 km) – /Lunch/Diner

At 8.30 AM, we start the motorbike tour to Ba Be lake (Northeast of Vietnam ) from the outskirt of Hanoi. We will keep the bikes away from the busy traffic by taking a small, winding road along the Red river. Enjoy great view of the river and rice paddies as we ride through countryside and extensive farming lands comprising a sea of paddy fields. See the daily life of the local when being in the heart of the biggest delta in northern Vietnam – Red River delta. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Doan Hung Town. After lunch ride a great motorbike trip to Thac Ba Lake on the quiet road with a nice mountain view. The first day finishes at peaceful village of Vu Linh.
Dinner and home stay in Vu Linh.

Day 2: Vu linh – Ba Be National Park (about 200 km) – Breakfast/Lunch/Diner

After breakfast, ride motorbike crossing over the the Song Gam mountain range and then take a great motorcycle tour through the rain forest on a rocky, bumpy and winding roads to Tuyen Quang, we continue on sealed road through renowned tea growing areas, where the hillsides are literally covered in plantations, From here it’s a short motorbike ride to the edge of BA BE Lake.
Arrive Pac Ngoi Village where we stay overnight at 5 PM.

Day 3:  Enjoy Relaxing Boat Trip on Ba Be Lake and Short Ride to Bac Kan (about 70 km) Breakfast/Lunch/Diner
 
After breakfast, take a short walk about 1km to the pier of the lake. Take a boat and enjoy a tour around Ba Be lake, take pictures of the breathtaking mountain views from the boat. Do some short trek in the jungle or short walk on some islands. Come back to the village at noon time for lunch, After that take a short motorbike tour to Bac Kan.
Dinner and overnight in Bac Kan – Hotel.

Day 4:  Motorbike Tour Back to Hanoi (about 220 km) - Breakfast/Lunch/
 
Leaving Bac Kan, we head south to go back to Hanoi, we will take the small paved roads to avoid the busy traffic. Lunch is in Thai Nguyen . Arrive in Hanoi before rush hours and finish perfectly the North Vietnam motorcycle tour to Ba Be Lake.

Day 1: Hanoi - Ba Be Lake ~240 km (L, D)
 
07:30 am at your hotel. Before we kick off, we will spend about 30 minutes to check over the bikes and insure that we have all necessary tools and equipment to guarantee maximum fun. Today, there is not much to see en route, although this will be a great opportunity for you to test your biking abilities and get a feel for your bike (Russian Minsk). We will drive through Thai Nguyen city, keep moving through many other timeless villages linked to the road, which is the main artery of trade between the Northeast region and the Hanoi Capital.
This is our first glimpse of rural Vietnam and sets the tone for the days ahead. Lunch on the way. Depending on traffic conditions, we will arrive at Ba Be Lake  about midday. What is more to take a local boat trip to explore one part of Ba Be Lakes, visit Goa & Han Ma island then more cruise to the village.  After arriving at our home stay in Bo Lu village, you are welcome by the host family of Tay people. Free time then to have shower, walk around the village. Dinner and overnight in Ba Be.
 
Day 2: Ba Be - Tinh Tuc - Bao Lac ~ 178km (B, L, D)
 
Today, with a medium drive with more slopes but we will soon be enjoying the wonderful sightseeing of   mountain, riding through villages. Lunch will be served on the way at a local restaurant then continue our journey to Bao Lac.  Arrival at the town in the late afternoon. Check in hotel and free on your own leisure to have shower and rest. Dinner and stay overnight in Bao Lac.
 
Day 3: Bao Lac - Meo Vac - Dong Van ~ 96 km (B. L, D)

After breakfast, we leave Meo Vac to Ha Giang. Remember to prepare your camera with lots of films for today since we will be hitting the Heaven – a more beautiful place, here we are surrounded by many rocks of all shapes and sizes, chances to see and even visit the traditional houses of the hill tribes here.
The scenic route climbs over a pass, and then we descend down to Meo Vac valley, a beautiful valley situated very close to Chinese border. Have lunch in Meo Vac  then we take time to climb over the Ma Pi Leng Pass where we can enjoy beautiful mountain ranges and the the Nho Que river – just an amazing place to be! We keep hitting the zigzag roads to Dong Van, visiting these remote areas, we will witness how hard the locals struggle with their environment for survival and development. We will stay in town to get the chances to visit the ancient streets with old houses of the H’mong made of clay bricks and tile roofs, built centuries ago. Sleep in Dong Van town.
 
Day 4: Dong Van - Yen Minh - Quan Ba - Ha Giang ~ 150 km (B, L, D)

A leisurely drive from Dong Van, back to Yen Minh & Quan Ba, this day will make your itinerary a good pace, not in a rush. We will visit the infamous Vuong Palace, a H'mong family of high rank during French colonial rule - this palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to its mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. We then hit the road back to Quan Ba and down hill to Ha Giang for the night.
Note: Quan Ba Sunday market is worth an arrangement!
 
Day 5: Ha Giang - Hoang Su Phi - Bac Ha ~ 209km (B, L, D)
 
A long but stunning scenery along the zigzag road from Ha Giang to Bac Ha will make today a little busier, some parts of the road might be difficult to travel so make sure that you depart early this day from Ha Giang to arrive to Bac Ha in time before dark. Dinner and overnight in town.
Note: Road from Ha Giang to Hoang Su Phi then Xin Man – Bac Ha can be bad and impossible to ride during the raining season, however a backup to travel to Bac Ha is already planned.
 
Day 6: Bac Ha - Sapa ~ 120km (L)
 
We have this morning free in Bac Ha to roam around (if we are lucky on Sunday for the market). In the afternoon 3 hours drive to Sapa. Your free time to visit this tourist town and overnight in town.
 
Day 7: Explore around Sapa, night train to Hanoi (B)
 
We suggest to ride down hill to a village then leave your bike there then head out for some hours of trekking to Ta Phin or Ta Van village. We will ride to Lao cai train station (1,5h) in the late afternoon, our bikes are then loaded on the train before your own dinner in Lao Cai. Our train leaves at 8.15 pm to Hanoi, arrival in Hanoi at around 5 am next morning, tour ends at your hotel.
